A plant from the Victorian wave
Ivy is the Old English ifig, the climbing plant, and it became a girls name in the botanical fashion of the late nineteenth century that also produced Daisy, Violet and Hazel. It fell out of use for most of the twentieth and came back in the 2010s. It is ninth in England and Wales and thirty-ninth in the United States, and unlike most of those Victorian plant names it never had a saint or a queen attached to it.
Three letters, none of them light
I is 9, V is 4 and Y is 7. Twenty from three letters is more than most five-letter names on this site manage, because two of the three sit at the heavy end of the table. It folds to 2. V is the only consonant, so the Personality is simply 4. Both other letters are vowels for the soul figure — I at 6 in the cipher and Y at 5 — which gives eleven and a 2. The Expression and the Soul Urge match here by two different routes.
Why is the total so high for three letters?
Because I is the heaviest letter in the table at nine and Y is close behind at seven. Most short names use lighter letters than these.
Is Ivie or Ivey the same?
Neither is. Each adds a letter, changing the total and putting more into the vowel column, so all three figures move.
Does the Y appear in the Personality?
It does not. The soul cipher counts Y as a vowel, so it goes into the Soul Urge and leaves V alone in the consonant column.
