The breakdown above uses this language’s letter table. The Soul Urge is built from a separate vowel cipher, so adding up the values in this list will not reproduce it.

One name, several registered spellings

The Arabic is a passive participle: praised, or worthy of praise. Getting it into Latin letters has never been standardised, so English-speaking registrars record Muhammad, Mohammed, Mohammad and Muhammed as separate entries. In the 2025 England and Wales figures Muhammad is the commonest boys name at just under six thousand and Mohammed appears again twentieth, which is a ranking of spellings rather than of names — and the reason this page can only be about one of them.

Three M letters and a heavy H

M is 4, U is 3, H is 8, A is 1, then M, M at 4 each, A at 1 and D at 4. The three M letters give 12 and the single H gives 8, so those four characters are 20 of the 29. Twenty-nine folds through 11 to 2, taking two steps. The consonant column — M, H, M, M and D — reaches 24 and folds to 6. The vowels are the lightest part of the name: U is 2 in the soul cipher rather than 3, and with two A letters the Soul Urge is 4.

Does Mohammed give the same numbers?

It does not. It swaps U for O and A for E, and both changes move the total as well as the vowel column, so all three figures differ.

Why does the Expression need two folding steps?

Twenty-nine reduces to eleven, which is still two digits, so it reduces again to two. Longer names reach two-step folds more often.

Are the Arabic letters counted anywhere?

No. This page reads the eight Latin characters against the English table only. Arabic has its own numeric tradition and a different system entirely.
