Yuri: name numerology
Enter a name and a date of birth — the same engine that produced this page does the arithmetic.
Work out your own name
The same name, counted four different ways — and only the fourth touches your date.
All four arrive as one document. Each chapter says first what that number describes for anybody, and only then reads the one your letters produced; the same file comes to your email as a PDF made for printing.
This page counts one spelling of one name. The document says what that costs the method — spell the name another way and the numbers move with it — and it says so in the first chapter, not in a footnote at the end.

The number costs nothing and asks for no address. The written reading is free as well — it asks for an email, because that is where the document is sent.
The calculation is free and needs no account. For entertainment and self-development only — not advice.
Yuri has one consonant: R carries the Personality number alone and lands on 9. The four letters make 28 for an Expression of 1, and since Y, U and I all count as vowels here, the Soul Urge of 4 rests on three of them.

One name, four romanizations
The name is the Slavic reflex of Greek Georgios, earth-worker, and it reached English through Russian and Ukrainian sources — most famously through Yuri Gagarin. English never settled on one Latin spelling: Yuri, Yury, Yuriy and Iurii all appear on documents, each a different string of letters. Add the final Y of Yuriy and the total climbs from 28 to 35, though the Personality stays 9, because R is still the only consonant.
Three vowels and one consonant
In the main table Y is 7, U is 3, R is 9 and I is 9, which totals 28 and reduces to an Expression of 1. The Personality is the unusual part: it rests on R alone, at 9, with nothing to balance it. The Soul Urge runs through the vowel cipher, which counts Y and J as vowels and rescores them — Y falls to 5, U to 2 and I to 6, giving 13 and a Soul Urge of 4. The same three letters are worth 19 in one table and 13 in the other.
Frequently asked
Is Yury the same as Yuri?
They are one name in two transliterations, and the method reads spellings rather than names, so the numbers differ. Use the form that appears on your documents.
Why does Y count as a vowel?
This method treats Y and J as vowels for the Soul Urge only; in the main table they keep ordinary values of 7 and 1. It is a convention of the system, not a rule of English.
Does the Cyrillic Юрий also give 1?
It does, from the same total of 28 — a coincidence between two alphabets. The other two numbers differ, because the Cyrillic spelling has two consonants rather than one.
