Shalom, Salome, Solomiya
The root is Hebrew shalom, peace or wholeness, which became Greek Salome and reached the Slavic languages as Solomiya. English knows Salome from the Gospels and from the Wilde play, but Solomiya arrives by a different road: it is a transliteration of the Ukrainian name, carried by people rather than by texts, and it is far commoner in western Ukraine than anywhere else. The two forms share an origin and almost no letters, so they are counted apart, as every spelling is counted apart here.
Three consonants that need no folding
The eight letters come to 37, which folds twice over: three and seven make ten, one and zero make one. Only S, L and M are consonants, and they happen to occupy the three lightest columns of the table at 1, 3 and 4, adding to 8 with nothing left to reduce. The five vowels go through the soul cipher, where O counts 4 rather than 6, I counts 6 rather than 9, Y counts 5 and A stays at 1 — twenty in all, giving a Soul Urge of 2. Is Salome counted the same way?
No. Salome has six letters against eight and swaps two of the vowels, so the total, the vowel sum and the consonant sum all shift. A shared origin does not merge two spellings.
Why does the Expression fold twice?
Because 37 reduces first to 10, which still has two digits, so it reduces again to 1. Folding simply repeats until one digit is left standing.
