Eve: name numerology

Enter a name and a date of birth — the same engine that produced this page does the arithmetic.

The number costs nothing and asks for no address. The written reading is free as well — it asks for an email, because that is where the document is sent.

The answer appears right on this screen — no email is needed for that.

The same name, counted four different ways — and only the fourth touches your date.

All four arrive as one document. Each chapter says first what that number describes for anybody, and only then reads the one your letters produced; the same file comes to your email as a PDF made for printing.

This page counts one spelling of one name. The document says what that costs the method — spell the name another way and the numbers move with it — and it says so in the first chapter, not in a footnote at the end.

4 chapters

  • What the whole name adds up to
  • What the vowels are said to want
  • What the consonants show first
  • Where the tradition has the two numbers meet

You can read the whole document before you type anything: a complete example is published for an invented date — the same file you receive, open to the last chapter.

Eve is three letters and two of them are the same E, worth 5 in the main table and 3 in the vowel cipher. The pair produces a Soul Urge of 6, the whole name an Expression of 5, and V on its own a Personality of 4.

Eve, letter by letter

Each letter carries its value from this language’s table. They add to 14, which reduces to an Expression number of 5.

The breakdown above uses this language’s letter table. The Soul Urge is built from a separate vowel cipher, so adding up the values in this list will not reproduce it.

The name in Genesis

Eve is Hebrew Chavvah, the first woman in Genesis, and the text itself glosses the name from a root meaning to live. English received it through Latin Eva, which is why Eva and Eve both circulate as separate names rather than variants: the same length, with A where Eve carries a second E. Evie and Evelyn are separate spellings with separate sums.

Two identical letters, two values

E, V and E come to 14 in the Pythagorean table — 5, 4 and 5 — which folds down to an Expression of 5. V is the only consonant, so the Personality is simply 4. The two E letters are the interesting part: in the soul cipher E is worth 3 rather than 5, so the vowel sum is 6 rather than 10, and the Soul Urge is 6. One character therefore counts one way in the breakdown printed above and another in the number below it, which in a name this short is impossible to overlook.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Do Eva and Eve give the same numbers?

No. A is worth 1 and E is 5, so swapping the last letter drops four from the total and changes the vowel sum as well.

Why is the Personality number a single letter?

Because V is the only consonant in the spelling. The number is correct, but it describes one third of the name, which is worth knowing before comparing it with longer names.

Is Evelyn a longer version of the same name?

Not for this calculation. Evelyn is six letters with a Y that counts as a vowel here, so the vowel set, the consonant sum and the total all differ from Eve.
