How Olga reached English
English met Olga through Russian books and the stage rather than through the church: Chekhov gave the eldest of his Three Sisters that name, and readers and émigré families carried it into Britain and America from the late nineteenth century on. It has kept one spelling in English ever since, while Olha, the current Ukrainian passport form, and the short Olya remain separate strings with sums of their own.
Two seventeens that are not alike
O 6, L 3, G 7 and A 1 come to seventeen. The Ukrainian spelling also comes to seventeen, out of five letters and completely different weights, so both land on an Expression of 8 — and then the two readings separate, Ukrainian giving a Soul Urge of 2 and a Personality of 6 where English gives 5 and 1. Because the vowel cipher scores O as 4 rather than the 6 the main table gives it. A is worth 1 in both, so only the O moves the answer.
Does Olga share numbers with Oleg?
Only the Personality, which is 1 for both, since each has L and G as its only consonants. The vowels differ and so does everything built on them.
