Resurrection, and a Russian export
Anastasia is Greek anastasis, resurrection, and reached English mostly through Russian — the grand duchess and the stories around her did more for the name in English than the calendar ever did. Stacy, Stacey and Anastacia are separate spellings. The last is a single-letter difference, C for S, and it changes the consonant sum, which is a good demonstration of how little it takes.
